About Us
Bambi, a well-established, affordable preschool is proud to have provided toddler and baby daycare in Lyttelton, Centurion for more than sixty-two years. Although Bambi began as a predominantly Afrikaans preschool, more and more English children enrolled, and we are now a fully bilingual school. Experienced, dedicated and qualified teachers teach and look after learners in our child-friendly, secure crèche with its lovely, large, shady and modern play area. At Bambi, we lovingly strive to support and guide each learner in the process of school preparedness and believe that their formative years at Bambi will remain an unforgettable experience. Although we offer an official and fun Open Day every year, parents are welcome to stop by any day to learn more about the school and to meet the principal.

Bambi recognises the uniqueness of all babies, toddlers and preschoolers in terms of personality makeup, learning style preferences, social preferences, learning modality preferences, brain preferences and multiple intelligences.
CHALLENGING
For their development to a higher phase, learners must be given opportunities that serve as challenges. Our school offers a safe and challenging environment so that learners can confidently begin formal education in Grade 1.
STIMULATING
Babies, toddlers and preschoolers are stimulus bound and need constant stimulation for optimal learning. Bambi offers stimulating teaching that recognises that each learner learns and develops at his/her own pace.
PRESCHOOL CRITICAL POST COVID
School closures because of the Covid-19 pandemic have led to major learning delays, including cognitive function, problem-solving ability, social development and even gross and fine motor skills. In 2019, an average of 29% of kindergarten learners were behind in literacy skills. This percentage rose to 37% in 2020, and further to 47% in 2021. Most children have lost significant instructional time and may not be ready for curricula which were age and grade-appropriate before the
pandemic, meaning that most children need remedial instruction to get back on track. Bambi firmly believes that the academic development of learners from 3 months to six years is our specialist area. We are equipped to deal with and correct each of these deficits through thorough formative monitoring and teaching. Emotional and social stability is a prerequisite for learning. To play is to learn, which is how we ensure school readiness while having fun!
